Class 11 Miss O'Neill 2022 - 2023
Miss O'Neill
Welcome to Class 11
This is the homepage of Class 11. We are a class of 29 fantastic pupils taught by Miss O'Neill and supported by Mrs Hopkin and Mr DeWinter.
The classroom door opens at 8:45 and learning starts at that time with some ‘Early Bird Maths’ - every minute we spend working with your child is important so if your child can arrive as close to 8.45 that would be fantastic for their progress. The doors close and the register is taken at 8.55.
Our timetable, including PE, changes over the course of the year.
PE will be on Thursdays (outdoor) and Fridays (indoor).
Seesaw posts will be used to inform parents of any class/year group reminders, so please keep an eye out for these.
Maths, writing, reading and PHSCE are taught in the mornings. In the afternoon, we teach science and the foundation subjects including art, design and technology, geography, history, computing, music, computing and Spanish.

Across the school, we ask our pupils to read five times per week (this can also be done over the weekend). Reading a wide variety of texts in Y6 especially is vital for their progression and will benefit your child greatly across the whole curriculum. Your support in their reading is very appreciated. Each child needs to record their reading in their yellow reading record. This will be checked once per week and as they hit various targets they will achieve different Ninja statuses - the children love this celebration of their reading! If you have any questions about reading please do come and speak to us - we love recommending books and discussing them with the children.
Year 6 is a very special year for all children - their last and most important. Our aim is to ensure that they achieve everything they wish as well as taking care of their well-being and making sure they enjoy each and every last minute they spend at The Quinta - making memories to last a lifetime!
