Remembrance Day

On the 11th of November, the whole school took part in a Remembrance Day morning.  The children amazed us with their knowledge and it was wonderful to see how our new curriculum has enabled year on year progression.  We discussed the importance and significance of the silence at 11am on the 11th of November, learned why we wear poppies and lay wreaths, discovered the role the Congleton cenotaph plays in Remembrance Day and higher up in the school there was a lot of thought for not only those lost in war but for those impacted by the losses and injuries.  All in all it was an incredibly successful day and the children are still enjoying spotting our 'Lest We Forget' flag at the front of school.
