Royal Visit to Congleton - January 2018

Congleton was visited by The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall

Their Royal Highnesses visited The Old Saw Mill, a community hub run by volunteers, where they met local groups and residents who use their facilities including crafts and dance groups. This was followed by a visit to the Treo Memorial Statue on Lawton Street, a statue dedicated to a local army dog who was awarded the Dickin medal-the highest award any animal can receive whilst serving in military conflict. The Congleton visit was finished by attending a Celebration of 700 years of the Mayoralty in Congleton with a reception for local charities and community representatives at the Town Hall.
